Traveling Disney World
Last week we talked briefly about the financial success the Disney brands were experiencing, and why not? It's the happiest place on earth!!!
It has become so massive that to see it all takes several days to do it right, and still get to do a little relaxing. You'll pay a little more to stay on the property at a Disney hotel, but you'll love the perks, especially if you are driving because the parking is free. They have great swimming pools too.
They have Disney FastPass service where you'll be able to reserve a time to visit some of the attractions, entertainment experiences like the fireworks shows and parades, and it is included with your Parkhopper pass which provides admission to all the attractions. They also have the MagicBand that everyone wears that provides admission to your room, attractions, and shows; you can even purchase food and merchandise with the MagicBand. Of course it is synced to your room, so the charges go to the room. Oh yes, they have the Memory Maker...a photo package that will not only provide you with great professional pictures of your experience but also save you money.
Some of the rides and attractions have been there for a long time like Splash Mountain, the Mine Train, and the Festival of Fantasy Parade. But they also add some news ones almost every year like the Seas With Nemo and Friends and coming this spring, Frozen Ever After. Then, there is Disney's Hollywood Studios where you can enjoy the Rock “N” Roller Coaster, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Star Tours. You wouldn't want to miss Disney's Animal Kingdom and the Kilimanjaro Safaris, the Expedition Everest, and opening this spring is the Rivers Of Light.
Beyond the theme parks there are two great water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. And you don't want to miss the Disney Springs where a mix of boutiques and eateries and entertainment will keep you quite busy throughout the day. What else? Well, there are two miniature golf courses, ESPN's Wide World of Sports Complex, bowling lanes and water sports center where waterskiing, wakeboarding, tubing trips and boats can be rented. We've even had clients who arranged fishing trips there, plus there are 4 challenging golf courses on the property.
As you can imagine, there are several dining plans available, depending on the type of package you are willing to purchase. They have over 200 restaurants that offer everything from snacks to feasts in all kinds of atmospheres. Some restaurants offer character dining and the waiters are always friendly and engaged in the Disney culture.
For the best rates, travel during the off season in September or January; holidays are always busy, and you can be sure, they know when the holidays are and price accordingly.
Like all vacations, plan ahead.....especially for Disney World. A lot of planning is done on-line on Disney's website....but in my estimation, it's always good to have a guide. That's where an experienced, professional travel agent is the BEST idea. They not only have been there, but have advised many individuals and families on their exciting Disney experience. Disney has a variety of packages that include all the attractions, meals, and transportation, and the agent can help you decide what is best for your families needs and budget.
So call Donna, Doug, or Joy today for the very best advice on traveling Disney. They can be reached at 698-1421; if you are out of town call toll-free at 800-760-4040.
