Hawaii, This Year, Next Year, Any Year!!!

Hawaii, This Year, Next Year, Any Year!!!

The travel trades I’ve been reading say that there has been an uptick this year in interest in travel to Hawaii.  We’ve booked a few, but in our area not necessarily any more than usual.  According to a recent visitor satisfaction survey, the islands score at the 98% level, so obviously it is a very inviting and popular vacation option.

Of course, one of the attractions to visit Hawaii is that it is one of our United States, and there is no need for a passport to travel to this paradise.  From our neck of the woods there is a little negative aspect when considering that a non-stop flight from DFW will take 8 hours, sometimes longer if there is a stopover on the West Coast.

The beautiful beaches on most of the islands, and the sightseeing of the natural wonders of the islands are big incentives to spend several days there.  One of the other considerations is that the islands are considered a safe environment to vacation and there is no language barrier to fight through.

In my estimation, one of the best ways to see all the islands with the least inconvenience is on a cruise ship.  Norwegian Cruise Lines has a lock on that experience because they are the only carrier that visits all four islands in 7 days.  They do that by overnighting on the islands of both Maui and Kauai.  All the other carriers promoting their Hawaii product have only 4 nights on the islands, and their time on each island is very short. . .plus you have to cruise 5 nights from the West Coast to get there and 5 nights to return.

The ship NCL uses in that market is the Pride of America.  We had a group on her about 5 years ago, and plan on going again October 15, 2016.  We always encourage our guests to consider going two days earlier for a couple of reasons.  One, it gives you a little chance to get accustomed to the 5-hour time change, but more importantly, you have more time to visit the revered sites of Pearl Harbor, and Punchbowl.

This will be the 5th group we have had the privilege of escorting to the 50th state, and it will stack up favorably with the Alaska adventure we go on every year.  Seeing the active volcano on the Big Island and the coffee plantations around Kona, visiting the beautiful beaches of the Flower Island of Kauai, and surviving a trip to Hana on Maui are just a few of the unforgettable experiences you can enjoy, not to mention the possibility of a golfers paradise.

The experienced travel counselors at The Travel Factory have advised many individuals and families on this beautiful and exciting option and would love to help you with your plans to Hawaii or any other honeymoon or vacation option.  You are certainly welcome to join the Travel Factory Gang on next years cruise, so give us a call at 698-1421 or 800-760-4040 for more information, or visit us at 4150 Southwest Drive, between Rosa’s and Chick-Fil-A, at the Plaza at Park Central.
